Each year I try to tally up the books I've read during the course of the year, just to keep track and share with anyone who's interested. This year was a hard year for me personally, and as you can see by my extensive list, I must have felt the need to lose myself a little in books.
These are listed pretty much in the order I read them. Believe it or not, I am not a fast reader. I usually try to whittle down to my top ten or so, but this year I'm having such a difficult time with it! There were SO MANY GOOD BOOKS. I hope to be back in the next day or two with some favorites, though probably more than ten.
A couple of these I have listed twice because, well, I read them twice this year. And at the time of writing this, there are still three books near the end I haven't finished, but I'm close enough to list them.
The List! Are any of your favorites on here? If not, what are some of your favorite books you read this year?

ReplyDeleteLots of good books this year!! =)
I'm running mine on Friday. I think we've got a few in common (Across the Universe and Matched for this year; Anne of Green Gables, Mockingjay, Where the Red Fern Grows, Anna and the French Kiss, and Dirty Little Secrets from other years).
ReplyDeleteOne thing I noticed with my own reading this year (something I want to remedy) was a huge lack of adult titles. I love me some MG and YA, but without adult fiction added to the mix, I feel off balance, like I'm not getting a varied diet somehow.
Something that surprised me about my list was the higher-than -normal number of non-fiction titles I read -- some were for research, some were for craft, but a number were just because they piqued my interest.
Happy New Year, Ashley and Caroline! Great to hear from you both! And, yeah, all those you listed are such GREAT books.
ReplyDeleteI got a few adult titles in this year, but I admit, I just don't enjoy them as much as my YA. Also, I've read several craft books, but since I usually just read a chapter here and there when it applies, I didn't list those. The only one I read cover to cover was SAVE THE CAT, which of course was Ah-mazing.
Hope you're both having a great holiday!
Lots of yours are also on my list, though I think I'll only make it to 85. I kept a list on my blog which was a fun way to do it. Next year, one of my resolutions is to read at least half 2011/12 releases.
ReplyDeleteI read only 2 adult books this year (well, besides craft books) - Ape House and The Help.
Great list! Looking forward to your favourites post. HOW TO SAVE A LIFE and IMAGINARY GIRLS are both among my faves of 2011. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to give you some numbers of favorites here, D. (2, 2, 21, 30, 43, 44, 50, 61, 64, 66, 74 & 79). Not that I read these all in 2011, but they are books that would make my top 100 of all time.
